Introduction (20 min)

Frame the tutorial by discussing managers' responsibilities, focusing on the responsibilities of ensuring an orderly environment for productivity, and helping the team develop a positive culture. Participants begin their involvement in the tutorial by writing their ideal review - what they would like their employees to say about them.

Part One: An Orderly Environment (70 min)

Participants will learn effective methods for allocating work, monitoring progress, and managing and meeting company expectations.

(10 min) Brainstorm desired attributes of the work environment, structured by generally familiar management best practices (timeboxing, reasonable workload, etc.)

Exercises include Story Card Sign-up Race, Standup Substitutions, Planning Buckets.

(10 min) Debrief using the "agile roundup" technique where particpants briefly share their a-has from the session.
