This month, XPUtah will be combined with the Utah JavaScript User Group ( ujsug - http://groups.google.com/group/ujsug ).

We will be at the usual XPUtah location (Border's books across from Fashion Place Mall).

Our goal this month is to meld our collective expertise in JavaScript and Test-driven development to learn how to do both more effectively.

In case you missed it last month (which is very likely)... we will be practicing the JavascriptXUnitKata. Here's the abstract:

If you found yourself on a desolate computer with nothing but a web browser, how could you possibly do test-driven development? It turns out, you can! The JavaScript XUnit Framework Kata is an opportunity practice a number of generally-applicable skills:

  1. An introduction or refresher course on object(prototype)-oriented development in JavaScript

  2. Bootstrapping yourself and creating an xUnit-inspired test framework... test first!
  3. Entering into and maintaining test-code-refactor rhythm, even in new or unfamiliar environments
  4. Working with and learning from others as you program

As the format of this activity is a "Kata", imitating martial-art forms... all skill levels are welcome. Just follow along and practice the moves made by instructors. (Not responsible for learning and feeling of competence which may occur with repeated exposure).

We look forward to seeing you there!
