In FebruaryAgileRoundTable2005 one topic was, "What would you pay money to see at Agile2005?" First JohnMajor's notes:
- "Code Health" - using tools to assess code bases.
- The Mock Objects tutorial was great.
ZhonJohansen has been asked to do Extreme Fishbowl again - not sure. It is fun, but folks do not learn a lot.
These conferences are not for this [the SaltLakeAgile] crowd, but for folks who are just getting exposed.
A good workshop would be for Product people - ProjectManagers, ProgramManagers, Designers - what do they get out of Agile?
- How about a panel that combines CEOs and front-line coders talking through the Agile issues?
ZhonJohansen's non overlapping notes:
- Vendor Encounter (meeting and talking with the vendors)
- Using Vendor Encounters as the metaphor, Practice Encounter - the practices are situated around the room with someone to talk to about that particular practice.
Coaching Skills (RonJeffries and WilliamWake do one of these once or twice a year)
- Bottom up Agile
- Training the organization
JeffGrover and ZhonJohansen are planning on presenting at Agile2005. After a racquetball game, they sat down and produced a stack of card containing topics they were qualified and interested in presenting:
Programmer Customer Interaction: The rules of engagement or RulesOfAgileCustomerEngagement - PeerToPeer
HybridTeams (hybrid usually means two, HeterogeneousTeams?). Agile teams are often composed of programmers, testers, doc writers, program and product managers, designers, architects, etc. How should they get along? Should they all sit in the same room? all the time? What are the communication practices they employ? - PeerToPeer, ExperienceReport
ExtremeFishbowl (aka, three ringed circus) - Workshop
Effective PairProgramming - Paper, Tutorial
- Re-introducing XP - Tutorial, Workshop
- Experience Panel (who can you get decides the success and topic)
- Testing with Aspects and Testing Aspects - Tutorial
Post-apocalyptic ExtremeProgramming - a depressing, whining PeerToPeer
KayJohansen and JeremyBrown plan to present a workshop. They have three ideas at the moment.
